PAMEELA HOT STILLS

Gulaab Gang: Madhuri Dixit's third innings starts with an aggressive stance

New Delhi: A couple of months ago, I got the chance to watch 'Abodh', Madhuri Dixit's debut film. The quintessential Madhuri spunk was there, and to be very honest it didn't look like her first film. Though her childlike face was full of curiosity, but the love for the camera was there. It was that kind of confidence which many of us don't possess in our teens. Not that I am trying to draw a comparison between lesser mortals and the original diva, but it was just her first film. You see, this was that sort of emotion which you experience while watching Amitabh Bachchan in 'Saudagar'.
A Hindi film actor operates on an island and his inability to bridge the gap between stardom and critical success takes a toll on their choice of films. The dilemma of 'not making it large' remains there till 'shelf life' (To play the lead) ends. But, sometimes we find actors who make swift transitions from one phase to another with such aplomb that you stop to speculate about their latent potential.
If you will take a closer look at Madhuri and her initial performances you will come to the conclusion that she wasn't tailor made for typical Bollywood glamour girl roles. She modified herself into the girl the entire India started cheering by 1988. It took her 4 years and 8 films to transform herself into the actor who was a blend of mass and class.
Gulaab Gang: Madhuri Dixit's third innings starts with an aggressive stance
With the unveiling of Gulaab Gang's first trailer, Madhuri is once again ready to charm the audience.

I assume you remember the style sense of late 80s and early 90s. The style icons had to be aware of the worldwide trends and then they were needed to dilute it down with Indian sensibilities. Just imagine those wall calendars which had the faces of 12 actors on different faces. Most of those heroines used to wear salwar-suit, in fact all the top heroines found it difficult to strike a balance between conventions and trends.
However, Madhuri Dixit kept thriving as she was learning the tricks of the trade really fast. Her pairing with Anil Kapoor was like an advertisement of youth and energy. Put them together in any story and their chemistry will make it a memorable collage of scenes. I have met several people who remember 'Tezaab', 'Ram Lakhan', 'Parinda', 'Beta', 'Kishan Kanhaiya', 'Jamai Raja', 'Khel', 'Zindagi Ek Jua', 'Pratikar' and many more films scene by scene.
Later, Anil Kapoor was replaced by much younger actors such as Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Khanna, but Madhuri kept marching forward. 'Pukaar', 'Gaja Gamini', 'Wazood', 'Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam', 'Devdas', 'Lajja', roles were written for her till she decided to settle down with Dr Nene.
She was out of the limelight for 4-5 years and several newcomers arrived meanwhile. In normal circumstances, a former lead is forced to take up sisterly roles to stage a comeback, but there were characters awaiting Madhuri. It also happened because new heroines were more about glamour than substance. The period in which Madhuri was abroad couldn't produce more than 2-3 really good actresses. 'Aaja Nachle' failed and she was written off. I recall some reviewers saying that she can't compete with the younger lot because her face has lost that 'Abodh' charm. Probably, they failed to envision rather anticipate Madhuri's actual calibre.
The gift of well tuned dancing was always with her and 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa' got benefitted from it. Everytime she came on the stage to flaunt a step or two, the crowd cheered, the 20 something TV audience jeered at her every move. These were the people who had been missing an Indian-ised and dignified film actress since some years. The way Madhuri conducted herself on the show made elderly audience her fan. Her politeness, grace, elegance and mischievous smile, everything worked in her favour, so much so that started capturing the fantasies once again. It was a grand comeback in terms of its success. You may call it her second comeback but it's an arguable issue. Was she even out of our minds all the while?
The latest phase of Madhuri Dixit's career is beginning with 'Dedh Ishqiya'. Most of the reviews are praising her and she looks stunning in the film. The experience of 30 years in showbiz reflects in her performance. Now, with the unveiling of Gulaab Gang's first trailer, she is once again ready to charm the audience. She is playing the characters that suit her age and off-screen persona, and this makes her an important actor to watch out for. It's like standing like a man in the crowd of boys who are still struggling with their adolescence.

Swiss Bank Ki Daredi Movie - Gala Gala Song - Geeta Madhuri, Hema Chandr...

1 Nenokkadine Review by Movie Glassy

Tollywood Review : Well before beginning our story line we need to appreciate producers and Mahesh babu for accepting such a complicated and risky story line. And Hats off to Sukumar for making such an daring attempt in Tollywood film industry.

1 Nenokkadine is a mixture of many elements but may not be known to all about what all ingredients are mixed in it. Movie story will be a confusing part which needs more concentration while watching it, ( Understanding Nenokkadine movie is driving at 80km Speed in Hyderabad Traffic). Sukumar screenplay’s are always complicated and are not easy to make a spot on our little brains and he repeats same with Mahesh bbau 1 Nneokkaidne too.

Story rounds around around flash back and present episodes and will also have many twists and turns which will confuse a normal people. We personally felt while watching movie is that ” It’s like writing an IIT entrance test with a huge DJ mix played around you“. Many twists and many action scenes and no entertainment will beja fry your brain.

Performances :

Mahesh mania is in every frame of film, He almost performs like a Hollywood star in this film with improved physic and sadly his lady fans might be unhappy with his new look. Mahesh did his best performance for Nenokkadine and one of the major point that can be discussed is his dance. He never did better dance than this movie is a false news, Dance moves in movie good but not the best. Mahesh may not be a dancer but he showed us some good dance moves in his previous flicks which will make this a bit low than expected.

Mahesh son Gautham plays a intro and special appearance role in film, His character never wasted time in plot and just delivers the part that required to movie. Well he is a growing kid and will be learning many more skills soon, For now he did his best.

Kriti sanon is a special diamond of all to be discussed , She is not a debut actress and she might have did around 20-30 movies before. This will be a perfect example or comment to describe her. Sukumar finds one more heroine for industry and delivers the best from her. Kriti hot glamour and sexy appeal will also be a plus point for movie.

Technical and other departments :

Movie is a feast for Technical lovers, Movie has many elements that will take Tollywood to next level of standards. Impressive looks and locations, Perfect execution of screenplay and mostly the best one to be appreciated is the editor who combined the twisty plot to a good piece. A good combination of Graphical works and other departments helped 1 Nenokkadine far better.

Positives of 1 Nenokkadine :

Mahesh babu performance and action scenes
Kriti sanon glamour and performance
Gautham and Nazer roles
Songs and BGM ( Dsp proves it again )
1st half with some interesting story twists
Action and chasing scenes

Negatives of 1 Nenokkadine :

Too many twists and confusing scenes
Hardly understandable Screenplay
2nd half is not much impressive as first half
Many characters left behind without proper ending
No comedy nor Entertainment

Over all Talk of 1 Nenokkaidne :

As we said earlier in review Nenokadine at least needs a Degree qualified minds to understand the plot, Just leave the movie for 10 mins and you cant’ even understand a single line of story. But a daring attempt with a different story line and direction should be appreciated. Never expect a single line of comedy from movie, Comedy lovers can hate this movie for any reason. Finally movie will gain some mixed review which may be average or below average or super hit. Well we had our own view on Nenokkadine.

Final word :

“1″ movie 1 time chusthe ardham avadam kastam…!

3.5 If you can understand the screenplay , 2.5 If you can’t.

This is just our view on Movie, don’t judge movie by our Review.
